The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth studio album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, first released on March 1, 1973, in the U.S. This vinyl pressing corresponds to one of the original or remastered editions still aligned with the album's enduring format. 

The album is widely regarded as a groundbreaking concept record. It explores themes such as conflict, greed, the passage of time, mental illness, and the pressures of modern life, all stitched together with audio experimentation including tape loops, synthesizers, and spoken-word interludes. 

The cover art has become iconic in music history: it features a simple yet striking prism dispersing white light into a spectrum, designed by Storm Thorgerson and George Hardie.
